Certified ISPM 15 Heat-Treated Pallets
CM Pallet Services Ltd supplies ISPM 15 certified pallets that are ready for export and meet all the requirements you need.
Why ISPM 15 Matters
ISPM 15 stands for “International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures Number 15”. It’s a set of rules created to stop harmful insects and diseases from spreading around the world through wooden packaging.
Why it exists: Untreated wood can carry pests like beetles from one country to another. These insects can damage local trees, forests, and plants, harming the environment and costing millions to fix.
Who created it: The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), working with the United Nations, developed ISPM 15. More than 180 countries now use this standard to protect their ecosystems.
What makes a pallet compliant:
- Debarking – All bark must be removed to stop insects hiding and re-infesting the wood
- Heat Treatment – Wood is heated to 56°C at its core for at least 30 minutes to kill pests
- Official Marking – A special stamp is applied showing country code, producer code, and treatment method
Countries requiring ISPM 15: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, European Union, China, Japan, India, Brazil, and over 180 others.
What happens without certification: Customs officials can reject, return, or destroy your shipment, causing delays and costing you money.
At CM Pallet Services Ltd, we ensure every export pallet meets these strict requirements. Our 20 years of experience means you can trust us to get it right every time.

Wood Types and Quality
We use both softwood and hardwood for our ISPM 15 pallets, depending on your requirements:
Softwood Pallets (usually pine or spruce):
- Lighter weight makes them easier to handle
- More affordable for single-use shipments
- Good for lighter loads up to 500kg
- Excellent for air freight where weight matters
Hardwood Pallets (usually oak or ash):
- Stronger and more durable
- Better for heavy loads up to 1,500kg
- Can be reused multiple times
- Ideal for valuable goods needing extra protection
All our wood is sustainably sourced and fully traceable. We believe in protecting forests whilst providing quality products.

Load Capacities and Durability
| Pallet Grade | Maximum Static Load | Maximum Dynamic Load | Typical Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light Duty | 500kg | 300kg | 1-3 trips |
| Medium Duty | 1,000kg | 600kg | 5-10 trips |
| Heavy Duty | 1,500kg | 1,000kg | 15-20 trips |
Static load means the weight a pallet can hold when it’s sitting still in a warehouse. Dynamic load means the weight it can safely carry when being moved by a forklift or pallet truck.
We test all our pallets to ensure they meet these standards. Your goods deserve reliable packaging, and we take that seriously.
